just tweak the knob you want to automate and then under parameters in the plugin menu drop down, choose last tweaked parameter and then choose create automation clip. you can't just simply right click on a knob and choose to create an automation clip. something else i didn't know how to do for a while was automating non-native vsts and plugins.

just posting the tip for anyone else that might run into the same problem because it's not all that straight forward until you know the software better.Īlso on another tip.

In all reality it is just a matter of knowing where the features are in the software and how it works. without going to link to controller and selecting the automation clip, after you make it unique, it's not assigned to anything and i just couldn't figure out how to assign it to something. Yeah, that was basically what i was doing, but didn't know how to actually link it to another parameter. Sure is a time saver and now I can fix some tracks without having to worry about redrawing the automations.ĭJ Vision wrote:you can click on the automation clip and say "make unique" and it makes a clone and then you can assign the new parameter to that From the internal controller drop down, select the existing automation clip you want assigned to it.Įasy as that, but took me a bit to finally figure out where the option was. So to reassign an automation clip, right click on the knob/parameter you want the automation clip reassigned to and select "link to controller". The help file has a little note that states the following about automation clips: "Once an Automation Clip is loaded it will appear as an 'Internal controller' link option in the 'Link to controller' right-click dialog on automatable controls."

How do you simply reassign that automation clip without having to redraw it? Only thing is the automation clip for say your lfo rate is no longer linked. IE: say you made a whole track, but then, for whatever reason, you weren't happy with the sound of your bass/synth so added a completely different channel/synth/sample,etc and copied all the notes/pattern data to it. Not sure if anyone else has had this struggle, but for the longest time I could not figure out how to reassign an already drawn/existing automation clip to another channel/parameter.
